London 26-01-2009- Mills Limited rolls out its new e-commerce website this week. The new system supersedes their pioneering site that has served them well for over 10 years.
The new site features an updated and improved look and feel, with better search and product filtering facilities and account handling features. Users can also generate instant datasheets by clicking the PDF symbol on each product page.
The system features a modern account facility with the ability to manage multiple delivery addresses for a single account. Additionally, payment can be made either by credit card or on account.
Site and product management is provided by a full featured Content Management System (CMS). The E-commerce system is fully integrated with Mills Sage accounts system as well as their current Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System, saving both time and money and preventing mistakes that are typical with running multiple systems.
Phil Presland of Mills Ltd said: “E-commerce is a critically important sales channel for us. The new system really enhances the customer experience while the Sage and CRM integration stream-lines our internal operation, saving both time and money”
The web design and development was done by Activate Media. For the technically minded, it is based on Open Source software; mainly Linux, Apache, PHP, and MySQL. This base provides a robust, secure, fast, full featured and cost effective site.
