NIA launch a new web portal

The NIA will lead a programme of national activities and events under the banner SC@nuclear. Their aim is to raise awareness of the supply chain opportunities that exist and are being created in the nuclear sector, and to help strengthen and promote the capability of the UK supply chain so that UK companies are able to play a full role in future nuclear development at home and overseas.
To support this programme Activate Media have developed a web site that will act as a information portal for the industry. The site includes a CMS that allows control over press releases, pdf documents and video podcasts.
Boss Wheeels releases new website
Boss Wheels recently unveiled its new website this week. This is the first installment of a multi-stage web based system that is set to revolutionise the aftermarket wheel business in the UK.
The new site features an updated and improved look and feel, with better search and product filtering facilities, including a wheel search based on car make and model. The site presents a wheel gallery to allow potential customers see what different wheels look like when they are mounted on actual cars. The new site also provides a very useful wheel and tyre fitment and maintenance guide, providing valuable information for all car owners.
The next phase of the Boss e-commerce drive will be a full intranet management system, that will provide stock control management, online ordering, online quoting and e-invoicing. The system will fully integrate with the offline Boss financial accounts package to provide a streamlined operation. Later this year, Boss Wheels will provide hosted sites to their customers, allowing them to promote their Wheel and Tyre offerings independently.
The web design and development was done by Activate Media . Site and product management is provided by a full featured Content Management System (CMS). Boss can easily add, edit, and delete products and product data, including photos. They can also edit all text and photos on the website. For the technically minded, it is based on Open Source software; mainly Linux, Apache, PHP, and MySQL. This base provides a robust, secure, fast, full featured and cost effective site.
David Gross of Boss Wheels said: This is an industry that is very early on the e-commerce curve, and we are focused on changing that. Our integrated web based system will provide us a real competitive advantage and provide our customers real benefits.
Elliot Kahan of Activate Media said: A market changing project is always exciting and the Boss project is certainly one of those. People will be amazed how much more efficiently things can be done and the additional opportunities that Electronic trading can bring.
